Creating space through efficient storage at the Royal Delft Museum
Royal Delft Museum centralized its storage with an efficient warehouse layout by Vanas. This freed up almost 50% extra space for new exhibition halls.
About Royal Delft Museum
Royal Delft is the iconic home of Delft Blue and combines craft, production and museum work.
The logistical challenge
Products were spread across two warehouses and were stored inefficiently, which required space and overview.
Vanas's solution
For Royal Delft Museum, the logistical challenge was closely linked to the experience of the museum itself. Vanas was commissioned to modernize the existing warehouse while respecting the craft and the fragility of the products, while freeing up space for new exhibition halls.
Vanas designed a compact and well-organized warehouse, supplemented with pallet racks for bulk and processing material. By centralizing products at one location and logically reclassifying them, the number of warehouses could be reduced from two to one.
The new layout offers more overview, faster access to products and more ergonomic handling. At the same time, the vacant space will be used to further expand the museum's public function — a direct link between logistical efficiency and cultural experience.
