Fully automated logistics flow at ALL SPORT
Together with Vanas, ALL SPORT realized a fully automated logistical flow in its new distribution center. The result: maximum space utilization, higher productivity and a scalable logistics concept.
About ALL SPORT
ALL SPORT is a family business and distributor of sports and lifestyle brands. When building a new distribution center in Arendonk, the company immediately wanted to focus on a forward-looking logistical approach.
The logistical challenge
Although the new building offered enough space, the challenge was to optimally organize the entire logistical flow. The solution had to increase productivity, stay flexible and be intuitive for employees.
Vanas's solution
Vanas designed and realized a fully integrated total logistics solution for ALL SPORT, where the entire flow of storage, order picking, packaging and shipping was automated and coordinated. The design is based on the Goods-to-Person principle and makes maximum use of the available warehouse height, significantly increasing both productivity and storage capacity.
The core of the installation consists of six Modula vertical lifts, 12 metres high, strategically placed on the mezzanine. These lifts ensure that products are automatically brought to the order picker, completely eliminating search and walking distances. In combination with batch picking via drop-to-light shelf racks, a fast and error-free picking flow is created, where multiple orders are processed in parallel.
Filled order bins are automatically removed via integrated roller conveyors and transported vertically to the packaging department with a compact Qimarox discontinuous bin lift. In the packing zone, a streamlined setup ensures that employees can fully focus on their core task: packaging efficiently and ergonomically.
After packaging, the orders are automatically sorted via a belt transfer shipping sorter with seven sorting locations. Thanks to its modular design, this sorter is easily expandable, for example by mirroring exits, so that ALL SPORT is also assured of a scalable and future-proof logistics system in the long term.
